Backpacks or Book Bags
Each student is encouraged to travel to and from school with a backpack or book bag. This would ensure that the student agenda books, library books and sharing items are protected from the elements and returned to school and home in good condition.
Lost & Found
We have an area designated for lost and found items in the entrance way to the school near the front office. This area becomes overcrowded with items belonging to students who forgot they ever owned such items. Please help us help your child locate their belongings by placing a label on their clothing, footwear and lunch box materials. Items will be put on display during Parent Teacher Conferences, and any unclaimed items will be donated to charity afterward. The same procedure will be followed at the end of June.
Bicycles, Scooters, Skateboards & Heelys
We certainly encourage active living practices with children such as riding a bicycle to school. Upon arrival at the school and for the safety of all students, cyclists are expected to walk bicycles on school grounds during school hours. When bicycles are brought to school they should be locked in the bicycle rack provided.
The school cannot be responsible for bicycles damaged or stolen while they are at school. In addition, safety regulations require that skateboards, roller blades and Heelys are not to be brought to school or used on school property.
Personal Electronic Devices
Our school has a Digital Citizenship plan and an Acceptable Use Policy that addresses the appropriate use of electronic devices at school. Students who disregard this policy will have that device confiscated and returned at the end of the day to either the student or his/her parent.
Valuables
Students are reminded not to bring valuables to school, e.g. expensive trading cards, electronic games, personal laptops, iPads, etc. The school will not be held responsible if these items are lost, damaged or stolen.
