Message from Interim Principal – Rick Petrowitsch

I have received several complaints and concerns regarding the afternoon pick-up. It appears that some drivers are parking illegally. Please make sure that you are not too close to street corners and crosswalks. This can impede the students from seeing oncoming traffic. Please be aware that the Calgary Parking Authority has been notified and will be monitoring the situation. Please remember the safety of the children over convenience. Thank you.

As the weather gets and hopefully stays warmer, please make sure your children are dressed in appropriate clothes and designed for school activities. On sunny days, we would encourage students to wear hats to protect themselves from the sun.

If children are riding bikes to school, please remind them to lock up their bikes securely. Just a reminder that skateboards, roller blades, and wheelie shoes should not be used on the school’s property.

Annual Family Fiesta – Thursday, May 14

Join us for a fun evening with fellow Collingwood families! Spend time together on the school grounds (we’ll move indoors if the weather doesn’t cooperate). It’s a great opportunity for kids to enjoy time with friends while parents connect and socialize.

There will be a variety of food trucks, plenty of good company, and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.

We’ll also be wrapping up our digital 50/50 draw on Monday—this will be your last chance to get in on it!

Date: Thursday, May 14, 2026

Time: 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM

We hope to see you there!

Traffic Safety

For the safety of all our students and families, we ask that everyone respect the law in the school zone. This means no jaywalking, not doing U-turns, and respecting the speed limit. The school does not have any authority over drivers on the streets. Let’s use caution over convenience.

If families witness poor driver and pedestrian behavior, please complete a police service report: https://www.calgary.ca/cps/traffic/traffic-reporting.html
