Dear Collingwood Students, Teachers, Families, and Supporters,

¡Gracias por su apoyo!  The Collingwood School Parent Association is pleased to thank all those who participated in the Escuela Collingwood School Bike-a-thon for their tremendous enthusiasm.  We exceeded our goal of $6,000, raising $9,150!  All of the funds raised will go towards refurbishing our bike racks and improving the area surrounding the racks so that it is easier (and more secure) for students to ride their bikes to school.  We value physical activity and hope that our children will learn about the positive impact active transportation has on our environment.

Congratulations to Pelayo’s Munchkins (Grade 4), the class that had both the highest participation rate in the school and raised the most funds. Honourable mention goes to Los Lobos de Grado 4 (Sra. Lara). Thanks to generous donations from the community, we were able to award prizes to some of our top fundraisers, including “Principal for a Day” Matt Bengochea.  ¡Felicidades a todos y a todas!

Thanks especially to the teachers, staff, and caregivers who encouraged all of the children of Collingwood to participate.  We hope you enjoy a wonderful summer filled with lots of bike rides, and we hope that all of the work will be done in time for our school for the return to classes in the fall.  Have a great summer!
