Dear Collingwood School Families,

Welcome back and Happy New Year!  As a friendly reminder, our January Fun Lunch for students in Grades 1-6 will be Thursday, January 15, 2026!  This Fun Lunch will be Subway + Booster Juice! 

For this month, the deadline to order or cancel is tomorrow, Saturday, January 10, 2026, at midnight.  After this time, there is unfortunately no way to add/change an order.

Reminders

We encourage all families to have a conversation with their child(ren) regarding whether or not they will receive an ordered lunch for that day.  We believe knowing this expectation in advance will help create a more enjoyable and positive environment for all those involved.  

Please note that we are a litter free school, so students will be asked to bring home all leftovers and garbage from the Fun Lunch.  Parents may wish to send a bag to contain any drips and help kids with this!

Volunteer Sign-Up

In order for Fun Lunches to be a success, we rely on volunteers to help organize and distribute the meals.  Please note that you can now sign-up to volunteer for Fun Lunches from January to the end of the school year. If you have a valid police clearance check, please consider signing up to help using this link:

In the event that your sign-up needs to be cancelled, please provide as much notice as possible as we require a minimum number of volunteers to distribute lunches promptly.

Student Absence on Fun Lunch Days

If your child is absent from school, on Fun Lunch day, and you were not able to cancel your Fun Lunch order by the deadline and choose to pick it up, please send an email to collingwood@cbe.ab.ca before 10:30 a.m. with instructions on pick up of the lunch.  Note the following restrictions:

  • The instructions must be received prior to 10:30 a.m. on  the day of the Fun Lunch. Fun  Lunches are organized and distributed between 10:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
  • Any unclaimed lunch orders (due to student absence), without directions received by 10:30 a.m., will  be donated by the Parent Association to the staff room.
  • Pickup time for Fun Lunches for absent students will be 11:30  a.m. - 12:00 p.m., at the school.  This will allow our parent volunteers time  to find and set aside the correct order.
