Dear Collingwood School Families:

As a friendly reminder, our December Fun Lunch for students in Grades 1-5 will be Thursday, December 19, 2024! This Fun Lunch will be Subway + Booster Juice! 

We encourage all families to have a conversation with their child(ren) regarding whether or not they will receive an ordered lunch for that day.  We believe knowing this expectation in advance will help create a more enjoyable and positive environment for all those involved.  

Please note, we are a litter free school, so students will be asked to bring home all leftovers and garbage from the Fun Lunch.  Parents may wish to send a bag to contain any drips and help kids with this!

Order Deadline

The deadline to order a Fun Lunch or change/cancel an order is always the Saturday prior to the Fun Lunch date. So, for this month, the deadline to order or cancel is tomorrow, Saturday, December 14, 2024, at midnight.  After this time, there is unfortunately no way to add/change an order.

Volunteer Sign-Up

n order for Fun Lunches to be a success, we rely on volunteers to help organize and distribute the meals (students are always very excited to see you!). Please consider signing up to help, using this link:

Student Absence on Fun Lunch Days

If your child is absent from school, on Fun Lunch day, and you were not able to cancel your Fun Lunch order by the deadline and choose to pick it up, please send an email to collingwood@cbe.ab.ca before 10:30 a.m. with instructions on pick up of the lunch.  Note the following restrictions:

  • The instructions must be received prior to 10:30 a.m. on the day of the Fun Lunch. Fun Lunches are organized and distributed between 11:00 a.m. and 12:25 p.m.
  • Any unclaimed lunch orders (due to student absence), without directions received by 10:30 a.m., will be donated by the Parent Association to the staff room.
  • Pickup time for Fun Lunches for absent students will be 11:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., at the school.  This will allow our parent volunteers time to find and set aside the correct order.

A Parent Association volunteer will assist you with the lunch collection during this pickup time.
