Message from Interim Principal  - Rick Petrowitsch

I would like to thank everyone for such a warm welcome to the Collingwood Learning Community. It has been a big learning curve coming into a school mid-year. I have been working hard to get up to speed on all the amazing things that are going on in this incredibly busy school. There are so many wonderful opportunities to enhance the children’s learning. Thank you for your patience as I do my best to get around to all the classes to introduce myself and get to know the school culture. I look forward to meeting parents at the Parent School Council meeting on January 28.

I would like to remind parents to please take care around the school grounds due the the incredibly icy conditions. We have had numerous incidents of slips and falls both with parents and children. We do our best to keep the entrances clear of ice however we cannot remove or eliminate the ice in other parts for the school grounds. We all love the warm weather that comes with the Chinooks however it makes it very icy with the continuous thaw and freeze cycle. Thank you for your understanding.

I am looking forward to my continued work with the awesome students and amazing staff. Thank you for your support.

Registration Opens for New Students Enrolling in KG and Gr 1 at Collingwood School

Starting Jan.12, 2026, registration for kindergarten registrants, as well as registrations for new Grade 1-12 students, will open for the 2026-2027 school year. Collingwood School is a lottery school.  The submission deadline for families of children/students who wish to apply for a school in lottery is noon on Feb. 10, 2026. If a sibling will be joining us for the 2026-2027 school year please ensure to submit the application before the lottery deadline so that they are included in the correct priority for lottery.  Applications received after the deadline will be placed on the waitlist.

All currently enrolled students at Collingwood School automatically proceed to the next grade.  No new registration forms need to be completed.

Please visit our information page for registration information:

Volunteer Sign-Up

In order for Fun Lunches to be a success, we rely on volunteers to help organize and distribute the meals. Please note that you can now sign-up to volunteer for Fun Lunches from January to the end of the school year.  If you have a valid police clearance check, please consider signing up to help using this link:

In the event that your sign-up needs to be cancelled, please provide as much notice as possible as we require a minimum number of volunteers to distribute lunches promptly and will need to replace your position with a new volunteer.

For any questions, please contact the Fun Lunch Coordinators at funlunchcollingwood@gmail.com.

*New* Single Sign Up for Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities at Collingwood School

Our Parent Association has streamlined the volunteer sign- ups to a single sign up link to view all upcoming volunteer opportunities.  Please check back often to see new opportunities added.

School Zone Safety

A friendly reminder to our Collingwood parents, to please slow down and take extra precautions when dropping off students in the morning. We understand it is a high traffic area, but please try to use the designated student drop off zone.

If you need to park your vehicle on the opposite side of school, please cross the road with your child at the marked crosswalk. We want to ensure that everyone stays safe.

If you have are concerned about school zone safety, you may choose to fill in a traffic- service request using this Calgary Police Service link:  Traffic Service Requests

School Field Trips Fees Payable Online

School Field Trip Fees are uploaded online.  To view and pay your fees, please log into your MyCBE Account.  Please use this Student Fee Guide to pay the fees online. If a waiver is not obtained and school fees are unpaid, these costs ultimately come out of the school budget.

Thank you for your ongoing support of Collingwood School.
