Painting at Collingwood School
The painters made good progress painting our grade 1,2, and 5 classrooms over the winter break. The final classroom, rm 10, Sr. Gomez’s class will be completed in the next few days. Thank you to the teachers and students for their flexibility in working in room 17 while the classes were being painted.

Safety in the School Zone
For the safety of all of our students and families, we ask that everyone respect the law in the school zone, this means not jaywalking, not doing u-turns and respecting the speed limit. If families witness poor driver and pedestrian behavior, please complete a Calgary Police Traffic Service Request. https://www.calgary.ca/cps/traffic/traffic-reporting.html
Dressing for the Weather
Please make sure that your child has the appropriate clothing for recess, lunch break, and / or community walks. The children go outside as long as the weather is warmer than -20 degrees.
Polar Bear Club
Even on days where the weather is colder than -20, those students who would like to will have the opportunity to bundle up warm and run around for a few minutes outside.

Commercial Messages
From time to time, the school sends out messages with commercial content, such as fun lunch notices, ordering pictures or special fundraisers. For example, the Parent Association is hosting an exciting new apple fundraiser this fall. In order to receive these emails families need to subscribe to receive commercial messages from the school.
