Dear Collingwood Families,
Your children bring a lot of joy into the school building and it is good to see them back at school with their smiles and energy. There are a lot of mixed emotions for our teaching staff due to the provincial government's unprecedented actions. We appreciate the support of families and look forward to continuing to work with you on behalf of your children and public education in Alberta.

Halloween
We know that many children are looking forward with excitement to Halloween this Friday. Since PM kindergarten students will not be at school on Friday, they are invited to wear their Halloween costume to school on Thursday, Oct. 30. Costumes with excessive gore or weapons are not allowed at school. AM Kindergarten students and grade 1-6 students are invited to wear their Halloween costumes to school on Friday. Please do not send food or treats to school for Halloween or your child’s birthday. Because teachers just returned to work, they have not had time to prepare special Halloween themed activities, although grade teams and buddy classes may choose to get together. Please contact your child’s teacher if your child will not be participating in Halloween activities and requires an alternative learning plan at school for the day.
Remembrance Day
We will be having a Remembrance Day Event in the morning on Friday, November 7 at 8:30 am. The grade 4 classes will be sharing during this assembly. Because of the limited time to practice, their sharing will not be as extensive as in previous years, but they will play an important role in leading this symbolic and meaningful assembly. All parents and guests are welcome to attend our Remembrance Day assembly.
