Message from Principal – Eve Moreau
What a wonderful first week back at school! ¡Qué maravillosa primera semana de regreso a clases! It has been a joy to see our students reconnect with friends, meet their teachers, settle into routines, and begin another year of learning together.
As we begin the school year, we invite families to make time for one of the most powerful ways to support learning: talking together about the school day – Conversar juntos sobre el día escolar.
Three great questions to get talking | Tres preguntas para conversar
1. What made you smile today? | ¿Qué te hizo sonreír hoy?
Invite your child to share a moment that was funny, joyful, surprising, or meaningful.
¿Hubo algún momento divertido, alegre, sorprendente o especial?
2. What is something new you learned today? | ¿Qué aprendiste hoy que no sabías antes?
It could be something from a lesson or something they learned about a friend, themselves, or the world.
Puede ser algo que aprendieron en clase, sobre un amigo, sobre sí mismos o sobre el mundo.
3. Who did you work or play with today, and what did you do together? | ¿Con quién trabajaste o jugaste hoy y qué hicieron juntos?
This is a wonderful way to talk about friendship, collaboration, kindness, and belonging. Es una excelente manera de conversar sobre la amistad, la colaboración, la amabilidad y el sentido de pertenencia.
School Council – September 9 at 6:00pm – Learning Commons
Please join us for our first School Council Meeting of the year. The Key Topic covered will be: What Matters Most? An Interactive Community Priorities Session. More information can be found here and here.
SMILE! It’s Picture Day – September 16, 2026
Please bring your fresh faces and best outfits for school pictures. Please note that hats and props are not allowed. Retakes will be done on October 26, 2026.
Welcome Picnic & Meet-the-Teacher – September 18, 2026, 12:00PM – 2:30PM
Picnic
Our picnic will begin at dismissal. Families are invited to stay on the school grounds, bring a blanket and a lunch, and enjoy some time together as a school community. Please note, that supervision becomes the parents’ responsibility at 12 p.m. dismissal.
Meet-the-Teacher Presentations
On the same day, families will also have an opportunity to meet their child's homeroom teacher and hear some important information about the year ahead.
There will be two presentation times:
- 12:45–1:05 p.m.
- 1:15–1:35 p.m.
During each session, homeroom teachers will share general information about the school year, classroom routines, communication, learning, and ways families can support their child's experience at school.
Having two time slots allows parents/guardians who have children in different classes to attend more than one teacher session. In case families are unable to attend, teachers will share their presentations with families so that they have all the information that was presented.
To help make these sessions useful for everyone, Meet-the-Teacher is intended as a general welcome and information session rather than a time to discuss individual children or particular concerns. We know that every child is unique, and we look forward to having dedicated opportunities throughout the year to talk about your child's individual learning, well-being, and progress. You are welcome to communicate with your child’s teacher throughout the school year to form a strong partnership in learning.
Looking Ahead | Scheduled Opportunities to Meet with Teachers
IPP Meetings: September 25, 2026
Families of students with IPPs will receive information about scheduling these meetings.
Parent-Teacher Conferences: November 27, 2026
This will be our dedicated opportunity for families and teachers to connect more specifically about each child's learning and progress.
We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back and beginning the year with connection, conversation, and community.
Terry Fox Run
Our annual Terry Fox Run will take place on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
Families are welcome to support this important cause by making an online donation or sending a Loonie ($1) or Toonie ($2) with their child.

Important! Traffic Safety and Student Drop-Off
For the safety of all our students and families, we ask that everyone respect the law in the school zone, this means no jaywalking, not doing U-turns and respecting the speed limit.
In the Student Drop-Off Parking Lot, please do not let your child exit the vehicle until your car has arrived at the Student Drop-Off Sign toward the exit of the lot. There are two lines of vehicles entering the lot, which can pose a serious safety hazard if children are jumping out while they are waiting in line. Also, parents/guardians, please do not park your car there for drop off purposes or get out of your vehicle. Thank you for keeping drop-off as safe as possible for our students.

Busing & Pick-Up Process
For all students who take the yellow School Bus, please call the office before 2:00pm if you would like to arrange to pick up your student. If you do not notify the office by this time, do not call the office, but rather meet your student(s) at their bus and sign them out with the bus driver.

Student Lost & Found
Please check our student lost and found regularly. All unclaimed items will be collected and donated on the first school day of every month.
