Terry Fox Run | Thursday, Oct. 5

As we study the theme of courage, we remember Canadian hero, Terry Fox. After losing his leg to cancer at 18 years old and seeing the suffering in the cancer ward, Terry decided to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. This was his Marathon of Hope. Terry Fox ran 5373 kilometers before his cancer reappeared and eventually took his life.

In 1980, Terry showed us that one person can make a difference if they try. Now, it's our turn to do our best to help those affected by cancer. Please support Collingwood School's participation in the 2023 Terry Fox School Run on Thursday, October 5, by making a donation to cancer research. Please do not send cash or cheques, rather make a donation at: https://schools.terryfox.ca/31227.

For the Terry Fox Run students will walk or run around the school field. The AM kindergarten classes will do the run at 10:00 am and the rest of the school will participate at 1:15 PM. Parents are welcome to join us on the field and participate in the run.
