Visits by Elder Eaglespeaker

Collingwood School has been working for the past several years with Elder Casey Eaglespeaker. He will be returning to Collingwood every month for the remainder of the school year to speak with the students about the 7 Grandfather Teachings. This month he will be sharing Blackfoot perspectives on the value and importance of truth, perseverance and resilience. He will be speaking with different grade groups each visit. We are grateful to the Collingwood Parent Association for making these visits possible.

Fun Lunch Thursday January 18

The next school "Fun Lunch" will be Thursday, January 18, 2024! This fun lunch will be McDonalds and Booster Juice.

The deadline to order fun lunch or change an order is always the Saturday prior to the fun lunch date. So, for this month, the deadline to order is Saturday, January 13, 2024 at midnight. After this time, there is unfortunately no way to add/change an order.

As a reminder, we are a litter free school, so kids will be asked to bring home all leftovers and garbage from the fun lunch. Parents may wish to send a bag to contain any drips and help kids with this!

Parent Diversity Subcommittee Meeting Jan 18 6pm

This meeting will be in person at school and online. All parents are welcome. The goal is to brainstorm ideas and plan activities to promote a welcoming, diverse environment at Collingwood for students and families.Click here to join the meeting (6:00- 7:30pm)

Parking at St Francis High School

Please do not use the St. Francis Parking lot to drop off or pick up your children. Resource officers will be issuing warnings and tickets.

Animation Residency

All Collingwood students will be working with presenters from the Quickdraw Animation Society for a residency on animation. This residency will build on a variety of drawing skills and for the older students, will culminate in the creation of short animated films. We are grateful to the Collingwood Parent Association for their financial support for this residency.

School Council Meeting

Collingwood School Council Meeting Jan 24 (6:30 – 8:00 PM) In Person at school and online. This meeting will feature a presentation by a group of teachers around our School Development Plan Mathematics goal on improvement assessment in numeracy with the new curriculum.
