Message from the Interim Principal
Rick Petrowitsch
I would like to thank parents for their positive feedback regarding the External Lockdown that occurred on Thursday. We were not provided details by Calgary Police regarding the reason for the lockdown; however, we were pleased that it did not negatively impact students.
We were fortunate that no students were outside the building at the time. Please be assured that the school has protocols in place to quickly bring students indoors if required. Notification was sent via email and phone message. If you did not receive an email, please contact the school to verify your contact information. In some cases, voicemail issues may be related to individual provider settings.
The safety of our students is always our top priority. Staff and students handled a stressful situation with care and professionalism.
Students from Mexico
This week and next week, we are pleased to host seven visiting students from Mexico as part of a visiting students initiative. These students are immersed in English language learning while sharing Spanish language skills and cultural experiences with our students.
This is not an exchange program. Students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 are staying with their families while in Calgary. We have enjoyed welcoming them into our classrooms and on select field trips and hope the winter weather has been manageable for them.
