Message from Interim Principal – Rick Petrowitsch
I hope everyone has had the opportunity to review your child's report card online. The teachers have spent a great deal of time on assessment and reporting your child's progress. The most important information is the teacher's comments on areas of strength and areas for growth. If you have any questions regarding your child's report card, please send them an email for clarity.
We are finalizing Student-Led Conferences on March 19 and March 20. This format will have four families in the classroom at one time, with 15 minutes allocated to each family with the teacher. The goal is for your child to show you the work they have completed and the work that is in progress. If your child is on an IPP and you require additional time, please contact the teacher via email to schedule a separate time. Conference booking will open on Saturday, March 7 at 9:00 AM. A separate email will be sent home through School Messenger with all the details.
I will be away from March 3–10, 2026. This was a pre-arranged absence prior to my contract coming to Collingwood. Sra. McCruden will be your first point of contact and Sra. Beltran will be supporting the office during my absence. The Resource work will continue with a substitute teacher.
Cell Phone Reminder: If your child has a cell phone and needs to call a parent, please remind them to come into the office to use their phone. We ask that students not use their phones in the hallway to call parents.
Learn and Share | School Planning – Engagement Opportunity
We know that we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That is why we will be sharing information about school planning and asking you to share your perspectives at our Parent School Council meeting on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. During this engagement, you will have the opportunity to learn about school planning, including the school development plan, school budget, and school fees. We will share how the school development plan sets the overall focus and direction for improving student learning outcomes, how school budgets provide funding to implement our plan, and why school fees are necessary.
Please join us on March 11 at 6:30 PM for this engagement opportunity.

Unpaid Fees
Unpaid central fees from 2024–2025 will be sent to collections in February/March 2026. This includes unpaid lunch supervision and transportation fees.
We encourage families with outstanding central fees for 2024–2025 to pay them in full, or to apply for a 2024–25 Central Fee Waiver. The Student Fees department is currently offering extensions for the 2024–25 waiver until June 30, 2026. For more information, email FeeWaiver@cbe.ab.ca. To request a payment plan (minimum $20/month toward 2024–25 central fees), contact StudentFees@cbe.ab.ca.

School Field Trip Fees
School field trip fees are available to view and pay online through your MyCBE account. Please use the Student Fee Guide for instructions on how to pay online.
