Evergreen Pop-Up Puppet Theatre Performance- June 10
Evergreen Theatre will be performing a nature & environmental themed Pop-Up Puppet Show called "The BEAR Necessities." This show is for students only. It is mainly performed in English, but it features a sprinkling of Spanish. They will bring a mobile outdoor theatre, which is like a food truck, but less calories and more fun! Please ensure students are dressed for the weather! We are grateful to the Collingwood Parent Association for their financial support for this performance.
Library Books
As the school year ends, we will have the last library book exchange this week. The librarian will begin collecting library books between June 9-13.
Register Now for Yellow School Bus Service for 2025-2026
Families are now able to register for yellow school bus service for the 2025-26 school year. Service levels and proposed fees are outlined below.
Registration is available through your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, learn how to create one.)
Families must register by Sunday, June 22, 2025
for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year
We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 22 deadline will be delayed. Confirmed routes will be posted in your MyCBE account in August. For those who register after the June 22 deadline, it may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.
Transportation can be cancelled with no financial impact by submitting the cancellation form by Sept. 30, 2025.

Online Report Cards Available June 25-July 25
Families can view, download or print online report cards for kindergarten to Grade 12 students starting Wednesday, June 25 until July 25, 2025 through MyCBE. Within MyCBE, families can also view student information, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades and attendance information.
School Clothing
A variety of stunning Collingwood School hats, hoods and shirts are now available for purchase. Show your school pride and order by June 14 to receive school clothing before the end of the year. See a new array of apparel and colors at our new online store.
Collingwood School Move-a-Thon
Thanks for the overwhelming response to the Collingwood School Move-a-thon! The event is now completed and nearly $19,000 was raised, way to go Collingwood! Congratulations to the top fundraiser Declan Christie who will be Principal for a Day this Wednesday as well as Bruno Stewart who will be Assistant Principal for the day on Wednesday.
Sports Day – June 13
We are excited to celebrate our Annual Sports Day on Friday, June 13, 2025! This is a special day of fun, activity, and school spirit. Please read the full schedule and guidelines below to help your child prepare for the day.
Event Overview
- Date: Friday, June 13, 2025
- Start Time: 8:30 AM
- Location: Outdoor field & gymnasium
- Who Participates: All students from Kindergarten - Grade 5
- Event Ends: Before lunchtime, followed by staggered lunch times and regular dismissal at 12:15 PM
Activities & What to Bring
- Students will rotate through various physical activity stations throughout the morning.
- Activities will take place outdoors and in the gym—including fun games, relays, and challenges.
- Please ensure your child comes to school with:
- Comfortable clothes suitable for physical activity
- Running shoes
- Sunscreen already applied
- Hat
- Reusable water bottle
- Healthy snack
- Rain gear, if rain is forecasted (we proceed rain or shine)
Free Hot Dog Lunch

Lunch Times:
- 11:00 AM: Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2
- 11:30 AM: Grade 3, Grade 4, and Grade 5
Parent Attendance & Volunteering Sign Ups
- Parents of KG PM class and Gr 1–5 students who are not volunteering are welcome to observe the activities from the field only.
- Please do not enter the school building unless you are an assigned volunteer.
- Volunteers should check in at the school by 8:00 AM.

Kindergarten Information
AM Kindergarten Students
- Friday June 13, 2025 is a regular school day for Kindergarten PM students.
- AM students are invited to join Sports Day with a parent or guardian.
- Arrival: Parent/ Guardian with Kindergarten AM students please come to the classroom by 8:20 AM.
- Participation: AM students will rotate through stations with their parent and the PM kindergarten class.
- Bring: Water bottle and snack.
- Lunch: AM and PM students will return to the classroom at 11:00 AM for a hot dog fun lunch. Guardians/Parents of AM Kindergarten students will proceed with their student to the classroom to supervise them for their lunch time.
- Dismissal: AM Kindergarten students leave with their parent/guardian at 11:30 AM.
- Note: Lunch provided is for students, staff and volunteers only. It is not provided for parents who are not volunteering.
PM Kindergarten Students
- Regular attendance schedule
- PM students participate in Sports Day with their class.
- Hot Dog Lunch: Served at 11:00 AM
- Dismissal: Regular dismissal at 12:15 PM

Traffic Safety
For the safety of all our students and families, we ask that everyone respect the law in the school zone, this means no jaywalking, no doing u-turns and respecting the speed limit. If families witness poor driver and pedestrian behavior, please complete a police service report.
Commercial Messages
From time to time, the school sends out messages with commercial content, such as fun lunch notices, ordering pictures or special fundraisers. In order to receive these emails families need to subscribe to receive commercial messages from the school.
Math Quest
Embark on a math quest. Explore the library completing fun numeracy challenges that support what you learn in school. Caregivers are invited to stay and play. Learn more!
STEM Explorers
Best Frenemies – All about wasps. We love to hate wasps, but these bugs are important to the ecosystem. We’ll discuss together and learn more!
WordPlay
Reading is necessary to help strengthen all learning. Children in Grades 1 and 2 can join CanLearn for a 6 week reading program that helps build their foundational reading skills, develops their love of reading and opens the door to their future success at school.
