Class Picture Day and Re-Take Day
We will be having our class group pictures as well as retakes on Wednesday, November 26, 2025
If you need a re-take of your student's individual picture, please email the class teacher to arrange it. It would also be helpful to include a note for the student to give to the photographer with any specific instructions.
Students who were absent on picture day, September 17, 2025, will have their pictures taken on this date.

Parent-Teacher Conferences
Our next Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on November 27 and 28. These conferences are an opportunity for the teacher to share information about your child’s learning progress so far this school year. Because of the days missed due to the labour action, the teachers may not be able to provide as comprehensive a report on your child’s learning as they would have done in previous years.
Sra. Heath, our Music Teacher, will be available in the music room for drop-in visits during conferences. Sra. Beltran, our resource teacher, will also be available in the resource room for drop-in visits during conferences.
Important Note:
- There will be regular classes for Grade 1 to Grade 6 students on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
- There will be NO School for Kindergarten students on Thursday, November 27, 2025
- There will be NO school for all students (KG – Grade 6) on Friday, November 28, 2025.

When to Sign Up for Conferences:
- Online sign-up opens for all grades on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
Conference Booking Deadlines:
- Kindergarten students: Bookings close Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 12:00 PM
- Grades 1–6 students: Bookings close Thursday, November 27, 2025, at 12:00 PM
Teacher Appreciation Potluck
The Collingwood Parent Association is coordinating a potluck for teachers during the upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences. If your family is able to contribute a dish for the teachers on November 27th please sign up at the link sent in the email sent to legal guardians.
Scholastic Book Fair – Still in need of Volunteers
Our fabulous librarian, Sra. Nino is coordinating a Scholastic Book Fair during the upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences. Proceeds from the book fair help to provide additional books for our school library. To ensure this book fair is successful, we need the help of volunteers to help set up, take down, and facilitate sales at the school.

Schedule of Book Fair for Students
- On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, and Wednesday, November 26, 2025, students will preview the books during their classroom library time.
- On Thursday, November 27 2025, students can come in the morning, during the school hours and purchase books (CASH ONLY)
- On Thursday, November 27 2025, we will be selling books from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
- On Friday, November 28 2025, we will be selling books from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm
Collingwood Honey Available For Sale During Conferences
Honey from our Collingwood Hive will be available for purchase (cash only) during the Scholastic Book Fair in the library on November 27and 28. All proceeds support the cost of our beekeeping program with Alveole. In the spring, summer and fall, Alveole sends a beekeeper to Collingwood School to maintain our beehive. Students will have the opportunity to watch and ask questions as the beekeeper works with the bees.
On November 18 and 19 the beekeeper will also be offering workshops for some of our grade 1 and grade 3 classes on beeswax candles and the honey extraction process. All of the activities related to our beehive are documented on the Alveole website. Come check out our bees! Alvéole | MyHive
Lost and Found
During Parent-Teacher conferences, November 27 and November 28, our lost and found items will be displayed for families in the hallway. Teachers will also take their classes to find lost objects. Any unclaimed items will then be donated.
CSPA Poinsettias Fundraiser!
Pick-up at Collingwood School will be on Thursday, November 27.
A reminder that Poinsettia Orders will be ready for pick up from Collingwood School on Thursday, November 27, 2025.
Art Cards
Art Cards by Kids sample cards have been sent home with the students today, November 20, 2025.
You will find instructions on how to order on the inside of your student's sample art cards that were brought home.
Parent Ordering instructions that are on the inside of each card:

- Enter the RED code on the back of the sample card ( this is each child’s unique code)
- Enter and pay for the order online.
- Order DEADLINE is Friday, November 28, 2025
- You can edit the child’s name and age on the card to customize
The order deadline is November 28, 2025 (11 PM). This fundraiser helps support environmental projects at the school. Thank you for your support!
Winter Concerts
This year, our Winter Concerts will take place on Thursday, December 11th at 8:30 AM and at 1:00 PM. They will feature the grade 3 and grade 6 students. Parents are welcome to attend either concert, as all students from grade 3 and 6 will be performing at both.
School Zone Safety
A friendly reminder to our Collingwood parents, please slow down and take extra precautions when dropping off students in the morning. We understand it is a high traffic area, but please try to use the designated student drop off zone.
If you need to park your vehicle on the opposite side of the school, please cross the road with your child at the marked crosswalk. We want to ensure that everyone stays safe.

School Field Trips Fees Payable Online
School Field Trip Fees are uploaded online. To view and pay your fees, please log into your MyCBE. Please use this Student Fee Guide to pay the fees online.
If a waiver is not obtained and school fees are unpaid, these costs ultimately come out of the school budget. Thank you for your ongoing support of Collingwood School.
